LGBTQ@Brown

Brown University is committed to supporting LGBTQ students, and the LGBTQ Center is here to help provide our campus community with information, education, support and resources unique to the Brown University student experience.

We are currently in the process of expanding and updating our online offerings for LGBTQ students, but if you have a question during our updates or would like to recommend a resource for us to add, please contact LGBTQ@brown.edu.

System updates have become available in Workday and in Banner to provide an option for all students to add their personal gender pronouns into Banner. Additional systems will be added in a phased manner.
Students have options to change their name and personal information on campus, either through a legal name change process or by adding their "lived name" to receive a new ID and email address that reflects their preferred name.
Brown supports all people in using the restroom and locker room that aligns with their gender identity. For anyone who would like to use a gender inclusive restroom, we have many on campus, and we are working to provide more in buildings that do not yet have them available.
All undergraduate students, regardless of gender identity and expression, have the option to request gender inclusive housing.
